The park is also home to numerous community events, such as the annual Art, Wine, and Beer Festival, and outdoor movie nights during the summer months.

 

Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, just a short drive away, offers miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails amidst towering redwood trees. Be sure to stop by the park's visitor center to learn about the area's natural history and wildlife and explore the several hidden swimming holes along the San Lorenzo River such as the Garden of Eden. For the kids (and grownups alike), nearby Roaring Camp Railroads is a wonderfully fun place to spend the day.

 

The nearby Santa Cruz Mountains offer a variety of picturesque but unassuming local wineries, such as Byington Vineyard & Winery, Burrell School Winery, and MJA Vineyards. There are also some great wine tasting rooms in Scotts Valley proper!
